Here I have attempted to translate typical spells from games like D&D and Pathfinder into Savage Worlds. This is a small sample of examples intended to give new players inspiration for their spell choices. All spells are in the SWADE fantasy companion pages 116-141 (preferred) or the core rule book pages 154-171, unless otherwise noted. I've noted if the spell is probably arcane or primal, but a well devised trapping could make any spell work with either kind of magic. All spells are subject to the limitations of magic, so many high fantasy spells do not have an equivalent in Asmythe.

  • Faerie Fire: Any power with the Glow/Shroud modifier
  • Feeblemind: Boost/Lower Trait, Primal
  • Fireball: Blast, Arcane
  • Haste: Sloth/Speed, Primal
  • Heat Metal: Elemental Manipulation, Arcane
  • Hold Animal/Person: Entangle or Stun, Arcane/Primal
