History

Geography

Edge Mountains

Impassable mountains, many steep cliffs and dead canyons.

Elba Sea

Cold water from the Iceflow Sea and warm water from the Seriander Ocean meet resulting in frequent mild storms that feed the Riverwood.

Erechwood

A large wet lowland between the Ringing Hills and the Galad Hills. Some kind of magical fugue lays over the Erechwood and it is a very dangerous place to get lost. No expedition has ever returned from the Erechwood with their sanity.

Galad Hills

Not as dangerous or as productive as the Ringing Hills. There is a large, and largely unexplored, Ilthura ruin in these hills.

Mulhat Mountains

Not as large or imposing as the Edge Mountains but too far North to explore.

Reef Isles

Pirates

Ringing Hills

The Ringing Hills are abundant with ore and ancient Ilthura ruins but also many beasts such as giants, Trolls, Ettins, and worse.

Politics

Each of the major cities in the Riverwood is the seat of an Armada city-state. The cities are each self governing and trade between them ensures an amiable relationship. Metal and manufactured goods move South in exchange for agricultural good. The rivers are mostly passable to small ships up to Scranton and to smaller boats as far as Aldrin. Overland travel is extremely dangerous and there are few roads, except where necessary to avoid the Erechwood and other persistent dangers.

Aldrin

Gateway between the dwarven holds and the Armada cities.

Amren

Amren is the largest city and trading port in the Verge. Amren, the king of Amren, has lived hundreds of years, enabled to his "fairy" wife, an elven druid. Amren also has several productive farming keeps nearby providing more than enough food to ship North.

Aurvushan

Dwarves

Foster

Most isolated city with a very strong military tradition.

Khorholt

Dwarves

Ranaban

Mage college, trading port.

Scranton

Situated between Aldrin and Amren and with a wealth of forestry related resources and trades mainly in timber, furs, and other products of the forest. Scranton is a major stopping point for trade between the dwarves to the North and the empire to the South.
